Meet The Hearts Behind HeartStrings

Joylynn Graham is an ordained pastor and multi-talented visual artist. She has a unique ability to find the beauty in life’s complexities and to express it in the words of prayer and remembrance.

Betsy Masterson brings to HeartStrings more than 40 years of experience as an orchestral musician and as a teacher of violin to students of all ages. The gift of music is one she feels honored to share with others, especially those in need of comfort.
At HeartStrings, we believe that every life carries a melody—a story shaped by love, loss, laughter, and the quiet moments that linger long after words fade. Our work is to honor that story with tenderness, artistry, and genuine human presence.

HeartStrings grew from a natural partnership between voice and violin—two forms of expression that meet where words alone fall short. Over years of shared work in ceremony and music, we discovered how seamlessly our gifts intertwine, each complementing what the other cannot offer alone.

Whether through spoken remembrance, sacred readings, or live violin music, our intention is always the same: to create ceremony that is personal, grounded, and deeply human. When music meets voice, something quiet and sacred emerges—and we follow where it leads.
